FlexIP
Mach6 offers its solutions on two different platforms, both developed in house: SpaceWeb and FlexIP. They are supported 24-7 by the Mach6 Network Operations Centre. FlexIP is based upon the latest proven technology and has been designed specially for mission-critical communications.
Dedicated connection
FlexIP offers dynamic bandwidth allocation, a unique feature of our platform. Customers have a dedicated bandwidth which can be adapted to changing business demands "on the fly". When needed by a specific application, for example, as when businesses make data backups at certain times or send video material to their branches. This extremely flexible solution offers the highest quality of service for each individual application.
Advantages
When using VoIP (voice over IP) on FlexIP, the quality remains guaranteed under all circumstances. And the same applies to video conferencing, say, or to critical business applications like large-scale ERP or CRM environments. With its dynamic bandwidth allocation option, FlexIP stands out from leased lines where that is simply not possible.
SHOD
Mach6 supplies FlexIP at different speeds for various types of subscription. Our platform is also one of the few on the market to support single hop on demand (SHOD). This allows customers to connect multiple sites directly to one another using FlexIP. Without requiring extensive investment in large numbers of modems for each branch and head office. SHOD needs only one modem per site, with communication between them not requiring connection to Mach6. This reduces delays, a crucial factor in time-sensitive applications like VoIP and video conferencing.
QoS Example
How does quality of service on our FlexIP platform work? Suppose you have a 256/1024 kb Silver subscription. That means a 256 kb upload and a 1024 kb download, both fully dedicated. But both can burst up to twice that speed, giving you as much as 512/2048 kb when needed. With a Silver subscription, you have an additional contention-to-burst ratio of 1:10.That means an extra dedicated bandwidth of 10 per cent.
256/1MB Silver
Silver means that you have a contention-to-burst ratio of 1:10.
256 + 10% = 281.6 kb Upload CIR: committed information rate/dedicated.
512 kb Upload MIR: maximum information rate.
1024 + 10% = 1126.4 kb Download CIR: committed information rate/dedicated.
2048 kb Download MIR: maximum information rate.
